    Door Lock Parts

    Re: My 57, again.

The inside door lock handle, in the AIM, shows a washer (4665069) and a bearing plate (4665068). I have no idea what these things are, and I can't find any reference to them on any of our supplier sites. Is anyone familiar with these things? The only thing I know of is a nylon washer on the backside of the handle.

The handle retaining clip does not show on our supplier sites either, but they are all over E-Bay and the Internet. I believe the lock handle clip is the same size as the window handle clip. Right?

And which way is the handle suppose to point when un-locked. Toward the front, or the rear?

    Appreciate any help,

    Dan

    CC has them.

    See the JM for orientation.

Dan, The question about the lock handle came up a while ago over on corvetteforum.

Typically, locked showed the handle tip down, unlocked tilted rearward around 8 o'clock. We concluded that by also using Noland's Book. Images below, doors opened, assumed unlocked.

But likely not exactly the same from the factory due to "rushing installation on the line".

        Re: Door Lock Parts

I did find the orientation in the judging guide Joe. I installed them unlocked pointing toward the rear, 3 o'clock on the right side door, 9 o'clock on the left door. Locked they are at 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock respectively.

I found the clips and nylon washers on CC Joe. I have no idea what the bearing plate and washer are in the AIM. I'm not going to worry about it. I think the way I have them now is correct.

Your pictures are great Rich (as always).

        Thanks for all your help
