Question on mileage points and judging

    Guys,

I'm planning on having my 69 judged at the Texas regional in October. I'm pulling out all the stops to get this to be a one and done, with a top flight result the first time. In that effort I am planning on driving my car to the meet from my home in San Antonio, about 300 miles. My first question is, is there a max I can get with my driving and can I drive less of the distance and still get max points, and second, I have a set a redline radials for driving and some white stripe bias plys for judging (what the car came with). Can I drive there with the redlines and then swap them in the parking lot, or do I have to drive the car in "as judged" state, i.e. with the bias plys, in order to qualify for the mileage points? Thanks for any advice.

    Mike

Have fun. Enjoy driving your car from San Antonio. That's what "driving credit" is intended to encourage.

I have a burning question...how do the judges determine how far you drove? They would have to know your exact starting point (which may not be your home) and the route you took. Is it all based on the honor system?

          Yes.

          It is an honor system.

As for me, I never quote my flight score w/ mileage driven...

I'm more interested in what the car itself scored - once at the event.

Plus, I don't have a trailer, so I just had to drive to 2 Regionals and 1 National...

          thx,
