1964 C2 replace rear pinion seal recommendations

Slight leak from rear pinion seal in 1964 Corvette. What are the watch outs in replacing the seal? What type of replacement fluid is recommended? Best way to measure to measure torque on nut so it goes back on the same?

For starters look at your 1963 Corvette Shop Manual for the seal change procedure and rear axle oil spec, and get back to us if you have questions.

Make sure you put some sealer on the splines or it will leak there and drive you crazy.
