I have recently been in contact with Ken...he is out of town for the next two weeks at trade shows. He said when he gets back in town, he is having a meeting with the folks that have been doing the testing on different O-rings...including the peroxide cured EDPM O-rings. I'll post back when I hear from him. This has been going on now for almost a year!!

I have acquired a container of DOT 5 silicone brake fluid which states; exceeds brake fluid specs J-1703 and FMVSS-116, compatible with SBR, EP, Neoprene and Natural Rubber, high boiling point 550 deg. F. No mention of Mil-Std compliance on the container.

I see a significant amount of information regarding the FMVSS-166 standard on the web including test and compatibility data for DOT 5. I think this type may be sold by automotive stores mainly for motorcycles. I may consider using this DOT 5 fluid once I get a chance to repair my caliper leak. It is clear in color.
