Transmission ID

This transmission was removed from an early 1966 car, but it clearly came from a very late 1966 based on the vin number stamped on it. I believe it is a Muncie wide ratio M20 and just looking to see if the transmission experts out there agree with me. Pics attached.

I was hoping to reunite the transmission with the car and I checked the C-2 Registry to try to locate the car, but no luck. This makes me think that this transmission may have been removed from a wrecked car and put in the early car. Is there another way to try to see if the car is out there? I was thinking about putting it in the NCRS "Orphan Documents and Stamped Parts", but if it was probably wrecked, why bother.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Assuming Bubba has not been there the 3870354 part number tag is an M20 or wide ratio for 1966-7.

Thanks Dan. Also found that an M20 has two cuts across the 10 input shaft splines, so I am sure it is a Muncie M20 wide ratio.

the first thing bubba does is take the pn tag and use same for hinge shim so probably unmolested

Thanks Ron. That's what I hope. Listed it in the C2 orphaned parts, so hoping it might be out there.

Post on CF and gooogle the vin from time to time to see if the car comes up for sale
