Assistance requested to identify distributor, '62 C1?

I recently purchased a single point distributor thinking it was from and for a 1962 C1 327/300 HP. I knew it did not have an identification tag. Once I received it I see the following identifications on it
On the vacuum advance unit is the marking B31 On the distributor casting by the tach drive brass coupling is a raised number of 321. The identification number I've uncovered do not match numbers I've reviewed in the NCRS 1961-1962 6th addition page 164 . Any help with this identification would be greatly appreciated.

A B31 is an aftermarket VAC, but I don't know what the specs are. Use a vacuum pump to determine the start and stop point of the pin and report the data. The OE VAC was stamped 201 15 and they are rare as hens teeth because the GM service replacement was a different number than OE.

I assume you have a 300 HP engine. Is it "stock" or modified? Manual trans or Powerglide? Selecting a functionally correct VAC requires knowing idle manifold vacuum... in Neutral if a manual trans and Drive for Powerglide. Report the data.

What's your objective? Are you looking for "NCRS correct" or "best functionality"?

Any tach drive single point distributor can be made to be "correct" for any Corvette that uses that type of distributor other than the VAC and cap. Repro part number tags are available. Other than asking you to open the cap window to see if it has breaker points, there's nothing the judges can see inside, so the spark advance map can be tailored to best functionality and the '62 300 HP distributor can use some help.

The distributor is worth only 3 points total - 2 for originality and 1 for condition, so spending an exorbitant amount for a 201 15 VAC or "correct" cap may not be the best use of your restoration dollars.

The 1962 250/300 HP used the 1110984 Single Point distributor.

It has a unusual GITS cap location, without a "stovepipe". It is pressed directly into the side of the cast base.

Thanks to everyone for their assistance in the identification. The distributor I purchased dose not have GITS cap. And the points and condenser are a one piece component. Guess I purchased an incorrect distributor.

P.S. I not seeing my earlier replies to Duke or Mike on this posting. Being new to NCRS site I must be doing something wrong!

            Thanks again to all!!

if you are not seeing answers in the thread, your mode of display of threads is set in Hybrid mode, and should be in Linear, Oldest First.. That will allow you to view all responses to threads in chronological order.. Click the tool User Profile in the smallest tool bar above, under the large Club banner at top of page..
              2-User_Profile.jpeg
Then see My Settings, then General Settings.
              3-My_Settings.jpeg

Near middle of that page you will see Thread Display Options.
              4-Thread_Display_Options.jpeg
And you'll find Thread Display Mode will say Hybrid, hit the Up Down arrow and click on Linear Oldest First.

Then go to bottom of page and click Save Changes.
