    Speaker orientation

    On a 64 no air convertible should the speaker transformer be on the driver or passenger side, or does it matter?

    Howard, Not sure it matters. I position the speaker to give me the most wire available to plug into the radio. Usually I'm working behind the glovebox.

      chokea choke blocks high-frequency alternating currents (AC) and allows direct current (DC) to pass throughI assume the primary source of the AC current is from the alternator before it is rectified to DC.

      Transformers use mutual induction to transfer energy between two coils. Transformers are used in power generation, transmission, distribution, lighting, audio systems, and electronic equipment.

      Chokes, also known as inductors, are used to filter out high-frequency noise, regulate voltage, and store energy. Chokes are used when only DC needs to pass through a conductor.

      Yeah, it's a "nit-noid" - just thought I'd pass that along...
      thx,

        Howard,
        In your '64 AIM, UPC U69, sheet 2 shows the speaker installation. Appears the choke wires are to the passenger side of the housing.

          Thanks everyone;
          I missed the AIM page and could find no reference to it.
