Prayers for all of our members and their families in Southern California.

You and your families are in our thoughts and prayers as you continue to endure the ravages of the fires.

Prayers to all. From 2001 to 2007 I lived on Deodar Circle, 1.9 miles down the road from Eaton Canyon. As best I can tell from this view that would be just below the bottom of that picture.

Just spoke with my judging partner from Santa Clarita. That's about 13 miles north west of the Hurst fire. Says he is fine and not in a danger zone. He said the guy that started the Hurst fire was caught and he is now in jail. The locals caught him and held him till the police arrived.

        Stay well all!

Thanks to all for your good wishes. It’s not over yet we have another round of Santa Ana winds starting early Monday thru Wednesday. We have a good game plan ready for those that want to do us harm, we are keeping our heads down and our gun powder dry looking for our targets. I’ll let all know the results.

I hope members out there evacuated their classic cars. I would think auto "Other than collision" rates will be going up in the future.

Not a Corvette (obviously) but a buddies '68 GT500KR, 4 speed, factory black. Pacific Palisades before and after...I'm sure they're many more.

The Malibu / Woolsey fire of 2018 consumed 96,000 Acres. There were $100,000,000 of automobiles lost, including many classics. In comparison, the current conflagrations in Los Angeles make the 2018 fire the equivalent of a dumpster fire. The losses are mind boggling.

Any real estate in Southern California is pricey. Because of California's Proposition 13, Assessed Value for property tax liability can vary widely from "Zillow" or market value. 1% of "a lot" (plus voter indebtedness) can be a crap ton. A 2.5M assessed value is $25,000 in property tax. A million is $10,000. While the weather (Santa Ana winds) was the primary factor in the severity of these fires, these people (and all property owners in LA County that pay the property taxes) deserve better service from the entities they pay for. I'll leave it at that.
