Looking for info on a car

This is a long-shot, I know, but if anyone has any history, knowledge, or knows the whereabouts of ‘65 Corvette with a VIN ending in 02103, please send me a PM. Thanks, Mike

Is there a way a non-owner can request judging info on such a car from NCRS records?

No requirement on ownership to research a car. However to do a Shipping Data Report or Document Validation you need to be a member of NCRS.

That Netherlands ‘65 on the C2 Registry website is VIN 02105, not 02103.

Thanks Gary. I had already checked the registry and done an internet search before I posted this string. It’s not listed anywhere I can find.

                    Hey Wes--

I personally thought it was very nice that you took the time and effort to research and answer the Originating Parties initial post! Especially in view of the rather cryptic initial request! Well done; and please do not stop trying to be helpful.

                    Best Regards,
                    Rob Vanderhoeven

Rob, I also thought it was nice of Wes to make the effort, but I’m not sure what you mean by “cryptic”. I wasn’t being evasive or difficult. The post included all the information I have on the car, but it’s a pretty definitive piece of information, in fact, all the information required to identify a ‘65 Corvette. The first place I looked was in the C2 Registry. Thanks,
                      Mike

                        Good Morning Michael--

I deliberated about answering your most recent post, as I did not want to engage in a "urinating contest;" however, since you asked....

Your initial posting of 8 February 2025, merely asked, "if anyone has any history, knowledge, or knows the whereabouts of ‘65 Corvette with a VIN ending in 02103." The posting did not mention why you were trying to find this vehicle; or that you had already checked the C2 Registry and Internet. Subsequently, on 19 February 2025 you generated an initial posting on the "C2 Orphan Documents and Stamped Parts" site and stated, "I have the original Rochester fuel unit for ‘65 Corvette car number 02103."

My personal opinion is that if you had initially mentioned that you had some major component for the vehicle in question; and that you had already checked the C2 Registry and Internet, would have served to amplify the original posting of 8 February, and would have provided context for the vehicle search. This would also have precluded redundant search and research efforts by well meaning NCRS members. The end result would have been a more comprehensive, (and less cryptic), initial posting. As has been stated by more than one member over the past years, the more information that can be provided in an initial posting, the better the responses will be.

                        Please have a nice day.

                        Best Regards,
                        Rob Vanderhoeven

Rob, you are welcome to your opinion on how I should have approached the issue, but it’s just that: your opinion. I don’t remotely agree, and will not discuss the matter with you further.
