Help - Has anyone seen this "Seat belts Fastened?" Sign on a Dash?

Does anyone recognize this decal (some sort of diecast, not a sticker) on the dash of my 1967 Convertible? I believe it may have been added by either the Mesa GM Proving Grounds, previous owner or the dealership (Courtesy Chevrolet in Phx, AZ) that sold it to my dad in 1969.

I posted online in multiple areas and have had some say they recognize it and have seen it on other Corvettes from a proving ground. Others have said they removed the decal from their car, and one even posted a picture (Black Dash Picture) of their dash without it. It appears to the same size and location.

According to NCRS report for my car:
The original delivery dealer was Dealer Code: 502, Zone, 0.
The name and location for Dealer was: Chevrolet Engineering Center Flint MI

Blue dash is mine with the decal, the black dash is another owner's dash that may have had the same decal removed.

Thanks in advance for the assistance.

As they say, "it's only original once"

The diecast plate is not TFP; BUT the original owner (GM Proving Grounds ?) may have made that standard procedure for any car they were testing. It may be an important part of the history of your car - TFP or not.

it would be interesting to see if other chevy models that were delivered there had that plate on them, too...
    thx,
    Mark

Ditto Mark's comment on your car's history.

There are only 2 Originality points associated with your dash panel (out of 4500 points total in Flight Judging). So kind of a non-issue if you choose to keep it.

1967 Car and Driver report on L89.
Same seat belt 'warning'. I've seen this on many executive cars C2 through C4.

          ...obviously an aftermarket add-on.

Back in the mid-sixties I saw an ad in Road & Track for a little plaque that said: "Caution: Do not roll windows down at speeds in excess of 120 MPH". I just had to have one!

It was a thin brass plate, with two sided tape that had a black silk screen leaving the letters in the gold brass color on a black background with gold surround... nicely made.

I mounted it in the center dash of my SWC below the radio. It got a lot of interesting comments from passengers, especially chicks.

This tag was on a car in the 1000 range that was a proving grounds car. The paperwork showed it was delivered to the GM proving grounds, also.

Tim G. - Thank you for comment and picture. Do you know which proving grounds it was delivered to?
