    Auto City Classic Windshield

Thinking I bite the bullet and get one of these for Oct 69 built 1969 L46 convertible. Looks like two options and wondering which is most correct...figuring the green? One is the green tint with shade band and the other is "custom grey tint with shade band". Am I correct to go with green tint?

What's in your car now? Has it ever been replaced (date code)?

      Side glass Soft Ray Tinted?

        hi,
windshield is a replacement that was in the car when I bought it.
        SUNSHADE
        SOLEX
        PPG DUPLATE
        LAMINATED
        SAFETY FLOAT
        ASI 256
        DOT
        W714

side windows appear to both be original with "Astroventilation" script and dates of UV and TV. has Soft Ray on them.

RPO# A01 for 1969 was for "Soft Ray Tinted Glass, all windows"

Given your side glass is Soft Ray expect your windshield would have also.

Don't have your year TIMJG before me, but expect it has words and music re "Shade Band" - your TIMJG will have a description.

Then read NCRS Standard Deduction Guideline #4 on window glass to help you evaluate your vendors offering vs our judging guidelines.

Put into perspective points gained/lost vs cost.

Original Glass on the right, theirs on the left. From a 63 Coupe.

Think I'll look for original vent glass.

                  Harry,

Any idea if that was the "green" or "gray" color for the new glass?

It's the green shade. I called them and they told me that they did not make the glass and many of their off-shore suppliers provide their own shade. They had no control over shade. Not all greens are the same.

It's not a problem if you are replacing all the glass, but their vent glass next to OEM door glass after installation would be an obvious mismatch and not look good.

If they know what they're doing, they can specify the shade and have it made correctly.

                        I agree.

So now I'm looking for R & L OEM tinted 63 coupe vent glass dated XC. IC works but the rest of the car is XC.
