Adding to what others have said about sorting, click on the “Filter” pull-down menu near the upper right corner (circled) below the “Subscribe” button and you'll have a total of 22 “radio buttons” under 5 different categories to experiment with to get your view where you want it to be.

The image below is how I have mine set
The "Time > Today" button shows anything posted (new or replies to existing) for the last rolling 24 hours (AFAICT)...
The "Answered > Any Topic" button will bring back posts when replied to - even from MANY years ago...

Play around with the settings to get how you like it...
        enjoy

        thx,

Cleared the cookies and I'm using Firefox. Issue still exists. Also tried the drop down under Filter. No change. Still getting last post 1st.

You have to take into consideration many members came from the era well before all of this tech.
Its hard for some to learn new things on a new web site. The creators of sites and or people behind "site improvements" forget that the older generation needs some spoon feeding.

Simpler is better. To many options are not always a plus.

For example why would you make the new site automatically ascending? Normal human thought processes want to see the new post at the top of the list, not the bottom. Its how I've been learning for 50+ years. Someone had the great idea to do the opposite. At least that's how mine was until I found the option to reverse it. And yes I had to dig for it. Makes no sense to me.

In the tool bar above how many of you know what the square symbol with the twin mountain peaks & the sun means? Whats it called? Hover over it and it simply says "image"...OK image of? One day it just appeared in tool bars. It took me weeks to figure that one out. Uploading pictures properly isn't intuitive. Way to many ways to get it wrong.

How many people knew what the three vertically stacked "radio" buttons meant when they first came out. Not me. I didn't even know they were called radio buttons. My son did.

Things which are captain obvious to the new gen are very foreign to the older gens. Today's gen "gets" all the hidden options and cryptic symbols etc because they are immersed it it daily. An they know exactly what to do or how to manipulate or get around a problem.

I'm in my 50s and I struggled with the new improvements. I am on a computer all day with my job. I'm easily frustrated and have zero patients for computers or other electronics especially when they do not cooperate or function with intuitiveness. MS Excel and Word still have quirks that absolutely piss me off.

My dad is 83. He doesn't come here anymore because hes simply lost. This is a guy that worked for IBM since 1966. Technology simply moves too fast for us older guys. Dad simply gave up. I fear the same will happen with the guys older then me.

This site is now somewhat similar to the "internet Brands" sites I use for Oldsmobile Buick Pontiac & Ford. So I'm getting the hang of it.

I have been experiencing trouble with Firefox the last few days with other sites. eBay simply wont work, but its fine with Google.

From what I'm reading someone at eBay updated the enhanced tracking(just what we need). To watch more of your every move within the site(thanks).

The fix is explained but I cant get it to work. Again the electronic frustration I was just describing. These rocket scientists can figure that stuff out but cant figure out how to make it seamless. Probably hired a 17 year old gamer to do the update.

I don't visit the site as often as I did in the past, (daily)and was caught off guard as regards
the recent changes. I did struggle somewhat but managed it despite objections from my 80 year old brain.
Nothing is taken for granted now, my patience gets tested frequently,
especially as regards rapidly evolving technology.
I surmise that the changes have probably precipitated the perceived decline
in tech board activity, for the short term at least.
                *Cheers*

The biggest change for me is the fact that when you do a search, at the bottom there used to be a list of related threads that you could go down the rabbit hole researching a particular subject.
That feature is no longer there.
Besides a group of knowledgeable members, that was easily the best feature of the old site.
I learned a ton about things that I was trying to research and it was easy.

One great thing about the new forum software is that you can click on the Members drop-down menu and search for a member by last name. Before you often had to scroll thru page after page of identical first names. I don’t miss that feature of the old software.

I used to search by the member's number...
that was a specific as you could get (even w/ multiple family members having the same number)
but that feature apparently is no longer supported
                        thx,

I just opened the Members list, and entered 30800 in the Search Users names box, and Mark Francis came up.

Another little trick I learned, that y'all might already be aware of is, if you're following a thread and see a new post has been added, like in this one for instance, go to the right side of the post where the posting member's name is, and click on the sideways chevron, or double arrow.. That will take you directly to that last post without scrolling through the pages.
