I have been dealing with an electric issue with my reverse lights. I am completing a restoration and using the original rear wire harness. it was physically in great shape and I re-wrapped the whole harness and the wires again looked healthy. I have rear tail lights, brake lights, blinkers, and license lamp lights. I also have one side of the reverse light that is working. The other side has power but will not light the bulb. If I ground the bulb it will light. I have taken it completely out and cleaned the mount where the speed nut secures it to the body and the ground. Still no light. I also tried to use a jumper between the two and could not get it to light by putting alligator clips on the studs??? What else can I try?

Keith, a few years ago I had a similar problem with the backup lamps on my '67. One side would light and the other would not. I carefully looked at what I will call the lamp socket. It is comprised of three parts pressed together. I had no continuity from the bottom to the top part. I carefully sanded two spots in the joints and then applied two drops of solder which in my case fixed the problem. I do not know how to post a picture, or I would do so to show what I am talking about. I wish you all the best with your project. Brooks Glover (2141)- Top
