    New Judges Shirts

I just read in the Restorer that the Board as approved a new style of judging shirts for us. I'm sure they must have at least looked at a "mock-up" photo of these shirts so I wonder if a photo or two could be shared with the general membership on this forum?
    Thanks!

There needs to be some clarification on the shirts/cost.

I've heard that we, the judges, will pay for the shirt and will pay a fee for each start. Is this true or not?

Also, you must be wearing this new shirt to judge?

As we know shirts are given at the National for 200, 300 and 400 level judges. 5-Star judges make their own if they desire.

Essentially, what is the requirement for the shirts, both wearing and financial?

          Cheers

The guy in that picture doesn't look like any NCRS judge I know. Good looking, svelte, full head of hair; he can stand with his back against the wall naked, look down, and see his pee-pee without a mirror.

"To promote a more uniform and professional look on the judging field". I've been active for 20+ years. I've been around, worked with and worked for, many, many judges. The experience and enthusiasm varies, but they are all courteous and "professional" in their volunteer positions as judges when interacting with other judges and owners. It's a damn good group.

It's not the shirt that promotes "professionalism", it's the guy or gal wearing it. My takeaway from this is that the "board" or someone (we will never know who) thinks NCRS judges aren't "professional" enough for their liking. If they don't like the guy in the shirt, changing the shirt isn't going to change the guy. At least, not this one.

FWIW, I like the newly proposed star level Judge insignias. The star format follows the widely recognized military General Officer/Admiral rankings. The 100, 200, etc. level designations currently used are only known/used within NCRS. I'm surprised this change wasn't made when the Five-Star Master Judge designation was created. I hope the plan is to do the same thing with judges hats. The star(s) would take the place of the level designation on the hats. Probably no need for a single star on the shirts or hats of a Master Judge (previously 100 level) as the level is implied by the absence of any stars.

Don't forget judges with fewer than 100.

If I understand the picture shown in this thread, someone below 100 points would be designated 'JUDGE' without any star shown. Similarly, my suggestion was the designation 'MASTER JUDGE' without any star would, by implication, be a 100-199 point Judge.

Uniform is a great idea and it only adds to the image quality of professional judges we already have. Optics matter...

This is Cindy Green; as a female judge the image of having a judges shirt is fine, but, I do not like this particular shirt for the female judges; I think a polo would be much better.
