1973 engine install bracket on bellhousing

While I do see a bit of orange paint on the bellhousing, the lift/install bracket is all orange. This seem correct to you?

Steel bracket vs aluminum bellhousing. The paint didn’t stick as well to the aluminum.

There is significant amount orange paint on some of the ribs of the housing also. Supports Patrick's comment.

        Rick,
There would be a good bit of engine orange on the bell housing where it attaches to engine. But, not much if any on the backend. They just sprayed those engines so fast at the factory didn’t really worry about covering all the bell housing. Some examples may have more or less. As Patrick mentions most of it just flaked off over the years. Here’s a shot of my housing on my ‘73. My mechanic did a decent job of imitating the factory look after I had some clutch/pressure plate work done a while back. Might even be a little more prevalent than the factory.
However, none of those plastic ribbed wire harness covers that I notice in your engine compartment are correct for your ‘73. Wires just had the black harness tape covering them.

The car has 74K miles on it. Would guess the clutch has been replaced at least once, but not positive. Lady I bought the car from a couple years ago purchased it in 1980 when it had 70K miles on it. She seldom drove it and spent the whole time in her garage. She did not have any clutch work done. There is some parts missing that I have been gathering up. The smog pump and tubes were removed long ago and spark plug wire vertical shields are missing. The ribbed wire covers you see are the plug wires.
Thanks all for your replies. That lift bracket just looked out of place being painted.

            Rick,
Nice to see that you are working on bringing back a ‘73. After a second look at your photo, I see the plug wires were covered, not the harness….sorry! Have fun collecting all the missing items. That was always the most fun for me. Good luck with the car. If there is anything I can help you with, don’t hesitate to ask.

              Rick-----

I think this bellhousing was once removed from the car (likely as part of a clutch replacement) and "cleaned up" of road grime and oil, removing most of the engine paint that was once on the forward portion. The lift bracket did not receive "equal treatment".

Sounds logical. Thanks all for your input!
