Installed new fuel sending unit and now fuel starvation

I replaced a rusty fuel sending in my 60 FI because the fuel gauge did not work. Now the gauge works however, the engine is now starving for fuel and will only run for a minute or less. Suggestions?

You may have broken loose debris and its plugging the line.

Take a pressure reading. Low or no pressure? Blow compressed air through the lines from the tank to the pump(disconnected on both sides). Same up to the filter. Inspect/replace the filter.

    Inspect the rubber lines.
If they are old, when you disturbed them during the pickup installation, they can crack and suck air.
Cracked lines don't have to be dripping gas, they will appear wet at the crack. Ditto for steel lines.

I have seen inner hose linings delaminate. When the hose is slid over the nipple it can cut or peal off the inner lining of the hose. That chunk can get lodged anywhere. The pump inlet, the filter etc.

Last...Dont rule out blockage in the new tank pickup.
