I just received my Holley 4150 List 2818-1 back from being restored and it looks great. Did a line by line judging of it per the current 1965 TIMJG. One thing that after looking at pictures in the TIMJG and of unrestored '65's with 2818-1 carbs I see two discrepancies.
The first one is the accelerator pump operating lever came back with the adjustment screw and spring plated black like the lever itself. In the TIMJG is looks as if the adjustment screw and spring are a natural or possibly silver zinc finish. The picture I have of an original 2818-1 carb also shows that it is not black.
The other question is whether the float adjustment nut edges are to be chamfered or flat? I know the slotted locking screw top edge is chamfered per the TIMJG. My carb came back with the float adjustment nuts with chamfered top edges at the wrench flat points.
The first picture is my restored carb with the black accelerator pump arm adjusting screw and spring with the black finish. The second picture is from a regional meet in 2021 where the original owner was having his unrestored '65 judged. The float adjustment locking nuts have un-chamfered top edges at the wrench flat points. The picture in the TIMJG looks like they also have the un-chamfered top edges. which is correct?
Thanks,
James
