    Knockout removal tool

Does anyone know the Kent-Moore part number for the tool by dealers to remove the knockouts from new car keys? I have seen a "pliers" type tool part number J7895 but I'm not sure. Thanks!

      Jeff,

The Kent-Moore J7895 tool is indeed a pliers-type tool you hold in your hand to use. I’ve never used that tool.

Knockout removal tools were also made by Burroughs. (I had one that I sold some years ago. No one ever asked me to remove knockouts. But I have actually been asked to reinsert them.) I’m pretty sure the tool I had was the Burroughs BT-6908, (and 6908A) like in the first photo. Unless I’m mis-remembering things, the 6908 tool is only designed to hold the ‘69 and newer large head keys.

I never owned the tool for the ‘68 and older small head keys, but the Burroughs tool for those keys MIGHT BE the BT-8831, which my notes say is the one in the 2nd photo.

Thanks to both for the responses. I made a tool and jig to hold the keys but what I made there is a chance of damaging the knockout. Harry- I did find the tool you suggested on eBay and it is pretty pricey. Gary- I did not find the tool you showed but I'm sure now that the 7895 tool does the same thing for 69 up keys which is what I need. Thanks again for your help.
