T-10 4 Speed, what are the correct last three numbers for this car and are they dated and if so how long prior to car, are they cast , steel, or aluminum bell housings, also points deductions for the assembly date on block having last to letters diff. than your actual motor hp., and the rest of motor being date correct. In '58, the only thing stamped on the engine pad was the engine plant's build code (source of engine, date of assy, and suffix code indicating the engine's specific configuration). The judging process is nicely defined in the NCRS Judging Reference Manual with 50 points being assigned to the 'numbers' on the stamp pad. So, if your block has the correct casting number, configuration (Flint vs. Tonawanda construction) and its casting date falls within the 0-6 month interval for the car AND the stamp pad's broach marks a correct, you can expect a 50-point deduction for the stamp pad numbers failing to match your car....- Top
