Well, who knows whether the trunk lid was original to the car. The trunk lid had the same finish as the body, as did the convertible top compartment lid. I don't remember specifically what the doors were like on my first Corvette , so maybe it is not an acceptable example for this discussion. The body is was as shown below and the chassis was
