my very early 66 (Sept/65)327/300 had been rebuilt prior to my purchase...found that the crank required the "bolt" which DIDN'T EXIST (some D-bag apparently left it out!)....needless to say it now has a new crank WITH the bolt installed!

Hi Joe My 66 300HP A/C PG has never been apart with 41000 MI. and no Bolt. Regards JR

Joe - No balancer bolts on original base engines in 66 S/N 25305 and 67 S/N 1476. Also, 66 Chevelle with original L30 327 engine has no balancer bolt. Pete

Peter, I had a terrible time finding the correct balancer bolt for my 63 FI car. It now has a TR with many grade lines on it and it is drilled for a cotter pin or wire which ain't there. Before it had a replacement LE from Chevy. Also it has a very special thick washer with an identification mark on it but I forget what the mark is. Of course you aren't talking about 63 crap. So how have you been? No key questions to amount to anything lately.Guys are probably going to Walmart to have their keys made don't u think. hee JD
