valve covers on my 66 corvette

i have cleaned the aliminum valve cover for my 66 327/ 350hp coupe but they are a very clean dull color is there anything that will bring a little more shine back to these guys?

If your plan is to have car judged then don't shin them. Know I had to have mine dulled.

They were never polished or shined from the factory--they were simply in the as-cast and as-machined finish. Clean them--don't polish them.

thanks everyone, that's what i need to know, it's just that they look so dull up against all that shiny chrome ignition shielding,grr

Gilbert, There are numerous guys out here that refinish the valve covers to make them look the way they should. Any signs of polishing or glass beeding will definitely give you some dings on condition. John D.
