My painter used the area of paint color from the trunk and soft top to get the correct color , he must have tried a dozen times or more spraying a piece of fiberglass trying to get the right tint, it took our local paint shop owner's father to find 50 year old vary fine flake and added it to the color mix and then the correct color tin came to life.
Each different flake size changed the tint till we found the correct flake and as I and Dennis mentioned if you can see the flake your using the wrong one and the tint has to be wrong.
But you can find the correct flake if you make your painter aware of it.
This is the reason setting two Corvettes side by side they can look different in tint, air pressure and thinner can also make a difference.
Seen here is my copper a little to shinny because it's a two stage because I drive it .
