    AR Torq-Thrust D p/n 1055661

Does anyone know if the version of the subject wheel currently being manufactured fits a C2 (1966) without brake caliper interference problems? Listed specs are 15X6, 3.625" backspace & 4.45mm? offset. Tire size would be 215-70-15. I searched the archives and there is quite a bit of discussion on this, also seems to be some confusion between new and old versions.

I put a new set on my '67 last year and used a 1/8" wheel spacer.

The only thing I can add is that American went to the D shaped spoke specifically to clear disc brake calipers as the original straight spoke wouldn't work on '65 Corvettes.

The "D" designation was for "disc", and the spokes had a distinct outward bend. In California, we called them "crow's foot" Americans.
In the late '80's the TTD's that American was selling were NOT the correct spoke configuration. They were straight. 15x6's would not clear the caliper on my '65. Needed a quarter inch ****er and extended lug nuts to work. 7"s did fit as I recall.

I'm hoping someone who's recently bought a set of 6" TTD's for their C2 will chime in, perhaps post a photo too!

Mike, no pictures but the 1055661's I bought like I said 2 Carlisle's ago went right on my 65 with no problems. I went to the garage & can see a distinct "cutout" in them for clearance. And std lugs that came w/wheels were no problem. I paid 148.00 per, so wait for Carlisle if you can!- SS

I have a set of the Torque Thrust "D" with a set of 215/65 radials for my 1967 street tires. Fitment is very good with no rubbings. A very nice looking wheel combo...Paul..

I would at least look a the 16" wheel and tire combo as there is a alot better tire selection available. I went with the 16"x7" american racing wheel about five years ago and have been very happy. The 17" requires too thin of a tire, most people won't notice the difference between the 15" and 16" wheel. There is just so little selection of tires available in a 15".

                      Hello Bob,

I just bought a 66 coupe with the same tires however it has flared fenders so I'm replacing quarter panels. I think that tire size looks great but I don't know for sure if they will fit with stock fenders installed. Does your car have stock quarter panels?

this thread is nearly 10 years old. Mr. Lovett hasn't posted on this forum since 2009.
I'd be surprised if he replied to your question.
