Dickie, a big asset of this new software is that section down at the bottom of the page that shows the archive search already done for the poster. It still may be necessary to gently refer them to the archived posts.

Once the archives get cranked up on this new system, we may find all the poster has to do is look at the bottom of the page to read your earlier replys to this same question. Unfortunately, it sounded like we'll only have "Guest" names for the current archived contributions.

Nah...I found it OK, but not on my preferred viewing mode. I'm still struggling along with the QUOTE button as you can see from your words being "quoted" above mine here. John, Gary, Rob...we're burning memory better used for photos here.

Edit: I see now one Dick Whittington was the last one to edit my post...I forgot you guys probably have the same "tools" as those other "mods" on another Corvette forum since the software appears to be the same. I don't know if I like you being able to change my words around.

                  Dick,

How do you prep the block? Do you use a primer, if so, which one? Thanks.

i've been prep'ing with lacquer thinner if the block/heads have been hot tanked, then shoot VHT chevy Engine orange on the bare casting. been doing it for 40 years or so and haven't had a problem yet. mike
