C-3, 1970 lower dash pads

Are the 1970 lower dash pads unique to that year and if so specifically how? I keep reading about stitching differences between 1969 and 1971-1972 lower dash pads. Does that also apply to the map pockets?

The 1970 has sticking while 1969 does not. Moreover, 1970 lower pads come to a point on each side at the bottom, while 1971-2 pads aren't a pointy. 1970 console is different than 1971-2 because of the points on the lower dash pads.

Scott, I am not an interior judge, but sometimes you can use vendor catalogs as a resource to answer restoration questions for yourself.

For example, if you go to one popular vendor's online catalog, you find he's selling the same map pocket for 69-77. That application is PROBABLY correct, but you can then check that listing against another vendor's catalog, to see if they break the years down differently with different products. Eventually, you get a feel for which vendors make every effort to sell you correct parts and can be trusted, and those which are not trustworthy.

Thanks, Stephen. There are so many subtle differences to remember on those dash pads. I thought there was a stitching difference between the '69s and '70s but did not know how the '71-'72s differed. I wish I had all three versions sitting in front of me.

I have a '70 and '71 if you want some pictures. '69 definitely did not have the stitching of a '70 through '72.
