Blackout Question

I am getting ready to complete the blackout on a 1965 Corvette and have a question;

Was the hood support brace that is up under the fender in place when the car went through undercoating and the blackout procedure? Does anyone have a car that shows any evidence of undercoating sprayed across part or all of the brace?

blackout job done in St. Louis on my 67 yellow coupe in early 1967.
