57 corvette beige dash

was just told by someone that at a certain sn corvette around 3500, you could no longer get a beige dash. i have never heard this. i know early to mid 57 they were all beige and then mid year you could get red or white. has anyone ever heard anything about this? was a beige dash always an option in 57? i dont have my judging manual here at work.

With which interior and exterior colors? My last '57 was #4275, Venetian Red/Beige interior and coves, and the lower dash was S****line Beige.

i guess the correct question is -was a beige dash an option all of 57? the car is red with beige interior

Mike, black cars with red interior have a red lower dash. There have been some reported exceptions of original cars with a biege dash seen in the 80's. The chart in the back of the 56-7 JM list a "2nd design". From what we can determine "2nd design" means it was a option added during the mid-to-late '57 production year. Gary....

My 57 parts car, (#1428) which I purchased in 1961 had (has) red dash, white car with red coves--original paint--nothing under it but dark primer.

Unrestored 1957 #4353 Black w/red interior had a red dash eyebrow...but...fading from the sun revealed s****line beige vinyl under the red. Stitching was original.

I always suspected and still believe it came from the factory that way.

the wheel on my car is the original wheel. carl etter in atlanta restores the wheels like new with the grain. you will get all points when judged. i dont know how he does the grain but its right. vette6t4@bellsouth.net
