Duh, I pulled my steering wheel column in my 67, and was sure I would remember everything..well her is a pic of a Orange, wax resistor mounted on the steering column/ pedal brace. Can someone tell were these two wires reattach? And what this is.

Re: Help with wiring
Without looking at the aim, I'm only about 90% on this one, but I believe it goes across the terminals of the stop lamp switch as part of the Radio package.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: Help with wiring
OK, but I just looked at the wiring diagram and U-69 package and that is what it is, likely a plant error figuring the % of radio vs non-radio cars. Sheet A4 in the U69 section of your AIM, a very handy document although I don't currently own a '67.Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: Help with wiring
William, I think you may be right. I notice the item is riveted on not screwed on, so maybe all cars got it mounted. I am fortunate to have two 67s the other has a radio, but I can not clearly see the wiring. Is the AIM sheet in the assembly manual?- Top

AIM and assembly manual are the same thing. AIM is short for "Assembly Instruction Manual"Bill Clupper #618- Top

Re: Help with wiring
What you are looking at is filter capacitor used to prevent clicks in the radio when you put your foot on the brake. It is actually 2 capaciors in one. Both are tied to the outer clamp as a ground. My 65 and 66 have one and both leads with small brass strips are folded in a "U" and go into the plug that connects to the break light switch.
Always check with a on ohm meter it should be and infinity on a digital and give a pulse and then charge to infinity on an analog ohm meter. If it does not go to infinity do not install it as it can cause your battery to drain and can burn up but hopefully would blow a fuse first.- Top

Re: Help with wiring
Larry thanks for the response, what a great site this is. Now if this car is a radio delete Corvette, it does not have to be connected. Therefore it probably was not connected when I took out the steering column. Therefore, I guess I really did not forget how it was to go back together, right?- Top
