    C2 New 5 Spd

I know this will seem like heresy to some, but I just picked up my '66 roadster from the shop today, where I had a Tremec 5 speed transmission (bought from Keisler). This car has always been fun to drive, but this new transmission just increased the fun level by at least a factor of 10. What an absolute blast to drive! I can't wait until the weather warms up here in Colorado so I can get it up on the mountain roads.

Gee, I just picked up my "06 GMC 3/4 ton pickup...

...about a year ago with a 6 speed Allison Automatic. It's a blast to drive and I don't have to worry about a clutch or clutch pedal...

Not heresay to me. I might do just that, myself.
My thought is that by improving the trans, you keep the essence of the old girl intact, but just lengthen her fingernails by a few inches.

      What engine/rear does she have?

L79, 327/350 HP and 370 rear. Before I took it in to the shop, I wrote down the RPMs in 4th gear at speeds of 50, 55, 60, 65, 70 and 75 MPH. I'll record the RPMs in both 4th and 5th gear of the Tremec when I get a chance to see the difference. While driving around yesterday, I found the new lower 1st gear wasn't even necessary unless you really wanted to launch the car and 2nd gear would get you moving from a dead stop just fine. 1st gear effortlessly smokes the tires

Nice, Mark. The TKO 500, 1st ratio of 3.27:1 sure beats the Muncie M20 2.20 (for 1965)ratio.
Should smoke 'em easy! Plus, .68 OD is nice, too.

Mine's an L76 with 3.70 gear. I plan on running it in the F.A.S.T class next year, so the Tremec won't be an option until sometime further down the road.
