I don't know what it means, either. If you find a reservoir bag with a 3" neck it might be the product of someone's imperfect research. I've never seen one, though. I may not have been looking in the right places, however.

Bill, how is that plastic neck extension attached to the bag...is it heat seal welded to the bag, or is it a twist-on adapter that's easily removed. I'm trying to understand if owners have simply removed and discarded this part, or if it's an integral part of the bag.

From your bag 69, it has the no neck like the one Geoff posted and the other a 72 from Bill's car has the 3" neck, now only 70 71 left anybody?...
My very late 70, 350/300 with CAC had a bag indentical to the one shown by Joe Mish, i.e. no 3" neck, and with a discolored clear plastic outside to check the fluid level. The back side looks like a plasticized dark gray fabric (you can see the woven material)...it could have been black once.

If not for the long neck, there be no way you could ever get water in it. The cross-over vacuum tube and rubber hoses + the hood unlock mechanism are right in the way. The neck tucks into the small area right next to the surround...
I believe all 68-72 cars ordered with C60 have the washer reservoir bag at that location.

In the 70 AIM, the reservoir bag installation is shown in UPC C60, Sheet E4 indicating that those reservoir installation details are only applicable when the C60 option is ordered.

Cars without C60 have a hard plastic bottle reservoir mounted to the RH inner fender (UPC 1, Sheet D7, 70 AIM). You may have noticed a rectangular boss with two dimples molded into the RH inner fender and wondered it's purpose...that's where the bracket for the hard bottle reservoir attaches for non-air conditioned cars. When the C60 option is installed, the bottle style reservoir would interfere with the evaporator and the routing of the refrigerant hoses.

I know you can't count on the AIM to be perfectly accurate in all details, but in this case, the C60 bag reservoir is drawn in the AIM as the early style without the neck extension. The change to the plastic neck extension on the bag reservoir must have occurred in the 71 or 72 model years.
