A/C fittings on 1969 big block

I have attached pictures of the fitting from the compressor to the top of the condenser on my big block air-conditioning system. The fitting coupler is off but the pipe will NOT come loose. It looks like there may be corrosion or some kind of sealer in the joint. Are these bonded or sealed or is it just being stubborn? Any ideas or information is deeply appreciated
    Thanks and regards...joe

I don't want to apply heat indiscriminately to that aluminum...

PS: The Chassis service manual did not have much info on this part

Joe, I am not certain about those particular fittings, but many of the joints in the AC system have O-rings for sealing. If the O-ring has hardened, it may not be flexible enough to compress and allow separation of the joint. How you address this problem I haven't a clue...maybe you can introduce some kind of liquid lubricant (compressor oil?) into the joint, but I would make sure I cleaned it all out before recharging the system.

More than likely you have corrosion keeping the two together. I would suggest that you soak with a good penetrating oil for a few days. You have to be very careful or you will destroy the short pipe that goes thru the inner fender.

Thank-you gentlemen. I have some penetrating oil (slikeroil?) I have been sparingly spraying on for a day or so. The coupler came off easily, especially given the age of the car. There does seem to be some kid of scale in the joint. I will keep at it. NOTHING about this car is easy, but...My wife told me I needed a hobby...
Thanks again. I will keep you apprised...Regards...joe
