    1972 windshield and door glass

Here is another question. I know the JMG says no float glass, but the picture below shows E-Z-EYE, Float Glass, Lamenated with a YJ, DOT 15 M24. Can anyone decipher that? Also the picture of the door glass has JY on it.
Please let me know what you think the dates are.
    Thanks
    Jeff

    JY is May, 1972
YJ is October, 1978---so unless you have a really LATE 72, your windshield has been replaced.

So the windshield was replaced in 78 but the side glass is correct?
      Thanks

My 1-previous owner August 1969 has a windshield date of TV and the date should have been VT (or visa-versa). The other letter combination refers to, I believe but too lazy right now to confirm, about a year later. That would have meant a really late 1969. The previous owner did not have the windshield replaced. Sooooooo, could the date indication letters have been reversed??? There have been no in-depth studies or reports on glass dating process, whether it was done in batches or just what. Letters like A, H, I, M, O, T, U, V and W are easily read from both directions, hence could easily be mixed up when combined in such etchings.

          Kent--
I think as he indicated, the issue is not only the dating, but the fact that it should not be Safety-Float glass
