    1969 L-68 ?????

I purchased my car from a dealer in indiana and Im in Ny I have about 5 years of paperwork. What would I look for or who could I contact to document this car. I don't know if tank-sticker is in place. It is a 1969 tri-power L-68 Everything with the dates on this car look right.

The "key" DOCUMENTS for determining the original "pedigree" of the car are things like the original sales papers, Protect-O-Plate, original window sticker, or "build sheet" (from gas tank or as otherwise sometimes found under the dash or carpets). Without at least one of these it's difficult or impossible to document the original configuration of the car. There are many features you can look for on the car which might IMPLY the original configuration, but they won't document it.

      There is no magic bullet.

There is no site or source you can contact. Best bet is to begin with the most recent past owner and go "back" from there.

The DMV in your state MIGHT have this info, but with the privacy laws we have today, sometimes this is impossible to get.

The tank sticker will give you the options, plus it will have a Zone and Dealer number. With those numbers, you can find the original dealer to which the car was delivered.

      I have a 69 L68 too, BTW.
