Late 68 BB

Hi guys,
The 67 tri powers have me blown away by prices so I'm looking at a late 68BB. I don't know the sharks as well and there was discussion about SN and date of production. What happened during the end of the 68 build year? Was thera a strike? My research shows 68's were built until August through SN 428566. Did they stop making BB's early? Please read below and let me know if things "make sense".
Tank sheet calls for date received of 05/03/68 with a Exp date of production of 06/07/68. and shes is BB option code 02L71AA. No the cars not a late one past 24500, but its knocking on the back door. So its a good bet that its one of the last tri powers that year.

I recall looking at a BB, tri-power (L89 IIRC) that was built August 6 or 8. I would have to look to see if I can find the serial number, but I am sure it was not the last 1968 -- I would remember that.

Thank you. I thought that she may be a legit car , but, definitely not "one of the last" as suggested by the owner.
