Rear Axle O-Ring Dimensions

Can anyone confirm the rear axle O-ring seal dimensions?

I measure approximately 2-7/8" ID, 3" OD, with a width of 1/16". But mine seem a bit stretched and flaccid so I want to be double sure.

My book lists those dimensions as an AS 568-40 O-ring. By good fortune a local supply house carries a full compliment of seals and rings.

It is a 1961. I thought that sexy new icon in the corner would preclude stating that anymore !

After I wrote the question, I realized that I can simply put a set of calipers in the bearing groove which I will do tonight. Knowing that it requires a 1/16" O-ring will answer the ID and OD questions. But if you have specific knowlege I wouldn't mind the concurrence.

I will share the info once I get it confirmed. O-rings are cheap and plentiful from sources such as Grainger or MSC. Corvette Central sells them too.
