Need help with a 1969 I am looking at. The serial number is 194979S727751. The block is stamped 19S727751 VO80 IXH. Should it be 79S727751? Thanks for your help. Joe

Joe, at least per my 3rd edition JG 19S7xxxx would be the expected sequence.

Either M20 or M27 body build date. I would be curious which it is. PM me if you don't want to post it.
080I would work -- August 1 for a late August body build, but XH doesn't ring a bell.

The only "XH" suffix codings I can find are for the following applications:

1968 truck with 310 hp 396 and 3 speed manual trans;

1969 truck with 215 hp 350

What is the casting number of the block and cylinder heads?

That makes more sense. Should be a 350/350, manual transmission with air conditioning.
