My question pertains to the cut-outs in the carpeting for the seat rails on my '64 convertible.... On pg 37 of the new '63/'64 Judging Guide, the cut out matches the dimentions of the seat rail, with the small flap located at the forward end of the cut out. In discussions with John Kennedy (the convertible top guru.....), John advises that there is another cut out on the inboard side of the rail (about a 1 1/2" X 2" notch) to allow access to the black, plastic drain plugs in the floor. Why would anyone lay carpet over these plugs....? It makes sense to provide access to them with a cut out. However, the photo of original carpeting in the new JG shows no such cut out....
Has anyone else encountered these extra cut outs in their original carpets?
