1963 carpet installation

Hello to all. This is my first post despite the fact that I have been working on my SWC for three years!

Can someone tell me if the 1963 driver side carpet is supposed to be tucked under the firewall insulation? I did this on my 65 roadster because the assembly manual for 65 states this. I cannot find anything in the 63 assembly manual or the new judging guide on whether this applies to the 63. The 63 carpet has a bound edge near the firewall whereas the 65 carpet does not.

Carl, I say no because there is a relief in the firewall insulation where the carpet lays and the carpet has a bound edge. That's how I did mine anyway.

Agree, outside, thou mine sits a half inch above the insulation relief.

Mine is outside the firewall insulation. Seems the only way that it could really work effectively
