    C-3 Alternator Clocking

I'm about ready to hang all of my restored driven accessories (A/C Compressor, P/S Pump & Alt.) on my 1974 L-48 and looked at my A.I.M. to see how the Alt. should be clocked (looking at it from the backside of the Alt.) and it shows (on page 400) clocked at 9 o'clock. I've researched this thru pictures of supposedly original equipment alternators on the internet at various sites and they seem all to be at 12 o'clock? Is this a concern for judging? I've got it pre-mounted in the 9 o'clock position and it just looks strange. Any advice or actual owners input or pictures would be helpful.

    THANKS in advance....Marty

You may be looking in the AIM at the position on a 454. The 350 was clocked different I think.
