    Engine Pad stamping?

Why on all real engine pad stampings for the engine suffix due they look like they are double stamped? I noticed this on a lot of real 435hp engine blocks that I have researched! 1st stamp is very dark then the 2nd is very light and offset a little bit! Just wondering, this is also my first post so hello to all! Thanks!!

Mike, I am no expert but you have to remember that these were mass produced cars and the person stamping the block did not care if the stamping exhibited a "bounce" apperance. That being said I have seen lots of original motored cars with no bounce however.

Mike I do not think that the majority of the stamps show double stamping. I have several hundred photos in my library (just a very minor portion of what was produced) and very few have evidence of the "bounce". Like Steve said though, they were not work's of art when new.
