A friend of mine recently bought a 1996 corvette. Talking to him today he says that there is 2 different body styles for this year.I disagreed with him but was told i was wrong. The only thing i can figure is that maybe there was a special edition.Anyone have a answer for me? Thanks

Re: 96 body style question
Hi Ken. As far as I know, there were not 2 different "body styles" for 96. There was the Grand Sport option, which for coupes only (I think) included wider rear fender flares to accomodate wider tires. Other than that, I don't think there was any difference between bodies, even though you could order a standard Vette, a Special Edition, or a Grand Sport.

There were 2 different body styles for 1996---coupe and convertible. There were, of course, other trim or performance package options, but these don't represent a body style. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
