    # Matching Engine Question

    Hope I am doing this right...first time posting. My car is a 1967 corvette convertible 327/300 4 speed. MY engine pad reads -
    7108700 V0I04HE First group of numbers match my vin#...how about the last group of number?....is HE correct for this car? thank you, Mark

    The numbers have the following meaning
    V = flint built engine
    0104 = the date the engine was assembled Jan 4
    HE = 327 300hp manual trans

      BOB...was HE used for 67 ...I show 65...adivse...or is that for all 327/300 cars?

        The "HE" suffix is correct for a '67 327/300hp 4-speed. In '65 that suffix was used for the 327/250hp, and in '66 it was used for the 327/300hp.

          And, to add to those in John Hinkley's response, in 1968, HE was used on 327ci/300hp, mt engines.

            My '65 300 hp is marked "HF".

              According to the Corvette Black Book, HF in 1965 is a 327ci/300hp, mt. HE is a 327ci/250hp, mt.
