Holley 3367 Date codes

I have only seen the three digit date code on original 3367 Holley carbs on 65 & 67 Corvettes as per the judging guide. But there is on one - you know where -that claims to be an original four digit. I always thought the four digit carbs were service replacement carbs. Any opinions on the topic?

A 4 digit date code indicates a Holley carb manufactured in 1973 or later. The Holley 3367, aka GM #3884505, was available from GM until 1984 and, later, through Holley distributors.
