06 Z06 Shifter Rattle

Does anybody know if GM has figured out why some of the Z06 shifters in the 06 model year rattle as you accelerate ? and If so, do you know what the remedy is?

My dealer wasn't sure...

There's been a lot of talk about this on CF and ZO6vette.com. I can't say I ever heard an answer. My 07 does it, but only if my hand is is on the shifter.

There is a TSB for this "comment," but it may or may not pertain to your car. If you search on Corvette Forum in the C6 Z06 section on the subject "shifter rattle" you may find the text of the TSB so you can decide for yourself if your car is covered. I know they are replacing some shifters under warrantee with 2008 shifters. As to whether that cures the rattle .... well that is another story.

I don't know about the ZO6 rattle, but i'm sure the new ZR-1 will ratttle!! If nothing else your teeth!! I wonder if the dealers will allow test drives?

I have heard this in the CF threads but like the needle bearing issue and the loose axel nut issue, I have found none of these with my 2007 Z06. It has just been a great car. No issues at all.
