    1957 Tach Drive Generator Issue

I had my 043 generator restored by a well known vendor a while back, but I'm just now installing it. I've run into a problem. The tach drive unit is mounted 180 degrees off on the back of the unit. This is causing a conflict between my air cleaner and the tach drive unit (I have a FI car).

I'm sure I can send it back to be reversed, but is this something I can do myself? Is the base plate for the tach drive unit pressed in to the endplate of the generator? I've taken the 2 bolts out that hold the tach drive to the generator, but it does not move.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Re: 1957 Tach Drive Generator Issue

    Update:
My generator guy called me back tonight. The tach drive base plate does pry off with some gentle persuasion. I did what he told me and the tach drive unit has been rotated. I guess I just needed a little confidence to pry on it.
    Thanks anyway.
