    Will this Windage Tray Fit?

I have a Early '64 327 x 365hp motor, and was thinking of swapping out the flat original windage tray with a new Milodon diamond stripper windage tray (I believe part no. 32250)
    1. Will this have any FIT issues?
    2. Is it worth the swap?
    3. Could it actually add a couple ponies to the mix as they say?

    Thanks in Advance,
    David

I'm familiar with the Milodon Diamond Stripper. It's an excellent piece; probably one of the best windage trays around. It will increase hp BUT primarily when it's being used in an application that originally had no windage tray and with minimal built-in oil pan baffling. In your set-up the existing windage tray, oil pan internal baffling and the oil pan, itself, have been engineered to work together as a unit. Replacing the existing windage tray with the Milodon piece might actually be a negative rather than a positive.

As far as fitment is concerned, the only way to determine if it will work is to get one and try it OR find someone who's previously tried it with the EXACT SAME configuration that you currently have.

Is it worth doing? I really doubt it.

Thank You Joe, I really respect your knowledge and opinion. I was thinking it would possibly be like an EC (Engineering Change) for the better, being they didn't really have the materials, and long term testing as we have today......but what you say makes sense. Again Thanks.

        Dave -

That's a common misconception - Chevrolet Engineering had incredible resources for design, development, and testing of engine SYSTEMS; almost all attempts at onesy-twosey "improvements" from aftermarket catalogs either fail or result in little or no improvement. They knew what they were doing, and did it well, given the known technologies at the time.
