    Please help with 350 block...

Can any help me identify where the 350 block and heads, that I removed from a 76 c3, came from. The engine was built as a 383 stroker. The block is 4 bolt main part number 3970010. The stamp pad has K1214TYC / 084126019.

The head's (part number 333882) are closed chambered, screw in valve studs and 202 intake valves.

    Thanks

    Bill

Re: Please help with 350 block and head id.

    Hey Bill,

According to the chevymania website, suffix code "TYC" belongs to:

Code Year CID Vehicle HP RPO Trans Carb Comments
    TYC 75 350 Truck 145 Base Manual 2-Bbl C-10
    TYC 76 350 Truck 145 Base Manual 2-Bbl C-10
    TYC 78 350 Truck 165 LS-9 TH-350 4-Bbl C-20 & C-30, Van

    The heads are listed as:
    333882 350/400 70-80 1.94/1.50 76cc

    I hope this helps.

    Rob

It's a 350 built at McKinnon Industries, originally installed in a '78 Chevy Van built at Scarborough, Ontario.
