What top to use for 1967 flight judging

I have 3 choices, a tan soft top with no date on the window, 1967s did not come with tan tops, a black soft top which has already been judged, they told me the material around the window opening was wrong and the date was wrong, or a hard top with new vinyl covering and a 1962 date on the window, it also has a black headliner and my interior is saddle. So what is the lesser of the 3 evils?

    I'd use the black one.

Tan would be my choice. Take the minor point hit for non-standard color.

        Keith,

With the tan top, it could be more than a minor deduct, if in fact 67's did not come with tan tops.

I went through flight on my 67 with the original hardtop, but covered (in the 70's) with white vinyl. I figured it would be a minor deduct for the add-on.

But as no 67's came with white vinyl on the hardtop, they gave me a full 85 off on color presentation. I protested and this deduct came from the top, the exterior judges were actually scratching their heads on this deduct. (I still made Top Flight though)

So the same deduct could be applied to the tan top.

I think I'd go with black soft top, or the hard top if it is covered in the correct black vinyl.
