Check out this RARE Corvette part.
It is a pity that a seller would list this kind of stuff (I don't consider it a part) with such a line of BS.

It's a beauty all right! Our old friend Mary Jo has the same busted P.O.S. for sale on another auction. Worst of all is that some one has bid on it. I'd love to be there when they put a torch to the two pot metal pieces.

For those not familiar with windshield post repairs there is a good and reasonably priced fix offered by Corvette Central and others. For about $65 CC has the windshield post machined and a new steel tab id fastened with 2 flathead screws. The machining is very precise and the repair tabs fit tightly.
The repair looks great and is stronger then the original pot metal part.
I have attached a picture of a repaired set.

I had a pair done by Paul Mazut AKA Mr. Solid Axle and I believe they were $100.00 a pair. Beautiful work, quick turn around and good price. Rich

I am at the point of having my windshield posts repaired and rechromed. The "tabs" are broken off but I don't have them (did not find them anywhere inside the body either when disassembled). Is this a problem? Do I need to find some broken end pieces?

The broken pieces are not needed for the correct repair.
The vendor of your choice will provide new steel pieces.
The only thing you can do with the broken off pieces is make a set of earings or put them on a charm braclet. I have 3 or 4 sitting on a shelf someplace which I actually need to throw away.

Not a problem, who ever does the repair makes mills new tabs from aluminum. Rich
